When I was in Vietnam, I had a friend from Jordan. I kept in touch with him through Facebook, and I was able to ask him a few questions about Jordan.
He's name is Zaid Itum, and now he's back in to his own country, Jordan.
Here are the Q&A of our interview.
1. How is it like there? (really brief) Any terrorism there?
Its nice. DEFINITELY no terrorism. Compared to other Middle East nations like Afghanistan or Iraq, Jordan is so much more peaceful and flourishing. That is why lots of people immigrate into my country.
2. What are some major concerns of your country? Terrorism? Immigration?
I would say they are water and food shortage, rather than terrorism. Yes, immigration had been an issue a while ago, and in a way, it is still an issue; but not as concerned as before.
3. Are there lots of different ethnics in your country?(like different races?)
Mostly, everyone is Arab but many people from differant arab countries, eg. Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, etc. And yeah.. I would say there are not many foreigners other than Arab people.
4. Major religion?
The major religion here is Islam. (Isn't that obvious..? haha)
5. Language?
Arabic
6. Climate?
All 4 seasons exist in Jordan. And right now, it's freezing like crazy..
7. Famous music, or singer?
Nancy Ajram is Jordan's most famous singer; he's famous throughout the Arab nations, I guess.
8. How is your country distinct/ different from Vietnam?
They are different in so many ways; here there are almost no motorbikes and houses here are made of solid 3 feet thick brick walls.
9. Anything you would like to say about your country to my classmates?
I live in Jordan and i said almost no terrorism because there was one terrorist attack but it was 4 - 5 years ago, and no more. I just want you guys to know that Jordan is not as dangerous as you guys think, or know. VISIT JORDAN!
